Cork is a natural raw material made from the bark of the cork oak. For this purpose, the trees are not felled, but merely peeled. The cork oak forests are thus preserved, bind large amounts of CO2, preserve soils as well as habitats for many species of animals, some of which are endangered. In addition, cork is completely biodegradable and recyclable.
